The Ryan Report: April 2026

One of the most common leadership misconceptions is that training is the fix for every performance issue. In reality, many challenges aren’t about skill at all—they’re about clarity. When expectations are fuzzy, oversight increases, and teams lose confidence in their ability to move work forward.

In this month’s Ryan Report, I walk through how leaders can create clarity, reduce unnecessary checkpoints, and help their teams operate with more autonomy and momentum.

At the same time, leaders are being asked to deliver more at the exact moment their people are struggling. Coaching is no longer optional—it’s how we help teammates stay focused, confident, and connected to meaningful work. And the data is clear: Gallup continues to show declines in wellbeing and engagement, and it’s showing up in performance and retention.

The path forward isn’t chasing talent. It’s building capability through ecosystems—developing people internally, partnering externally, and integrating AI agents to reduce friction and elevate human strengths.

Check out April’s Ryan Report and if these ideas resonate and you’d like to explore them more deeply, I’d love to continue the conversation. Click here and let’s find time to connect. I’ll have the coffee ready.
