Learning for now, Learning Strategies, Ryan Report

The Ryan Report: September 2022

Days are getting shorter and cooler too yet this issue of The Ryan Report (with news to use & ideas to share) brings a hot new video that looks at how becoming a skills-based organization benefits the individual and the team by focusing on the skills and capabilities people bring to the work more than the idea that work is fully definable and static.

Speaking of skills, one to add to our collective is empathy and one application is how we can address the impact that “quiet quitting” and “quiet firing” is having on organizations. Another area we can focus on skills is to increase our recruitment pool by eliminating the “paper ceiling” where a degree is used as a requirement even though the role doesn’t truly need it.

Thanks to the many who tapped into the conversation I had with @guywwallace on The HPT Video Series and I would welcome the time to have a conversation with you about the news you can use and ideas we can share. Let’s Zoom or even use the phone to talk because together, we are stronger, and we don’t need being remote or at a distance to keep us from connecting and engaging – let’s learn and work together!  I’ll bring some coffee….
