As remote work becomes more common in 2024, traditional corporate hierarchies will begin flattening to empower employees at all levels with greater autonomy, responsibility, and strategic input.
In this video I share techniques to retain talent by embracing “leaders at all levels” and evolving managers and employees into decisive, empowered collaborators suited for flatter organizational structures shifting from rigid command-and-control management to a more collaborative and trust-based model focused on developing critical skills and leadership capabilities across the workforce. In this issue there’s a reminder that regardless of location, leaders need to be consistent and intentional about the messages shared with teammates. Modeling the behaviors you want is another leadership trait, innovation flourishes when workers see management experimenting and learning in the flow of work. Finally, transformation is a key 2024 expectation, yet a prime barrier are the processes and procedures are not taking advantage of the new platforms and people working anywhere, anytime.
