Learning for now, Learning Strategies, Ryan Report, strategy

The Ryan Report: June 2023

What would you do? New machine that requires 8 people/shift to operate and 24 hours to prepare training as they install the machine and 1 operating manual. We learned by doing along with the participants because sometimes, the best learning happens when you don’t know all the answers but share a desire to figure it out, be curious, and collaborate. In this video I share the story and lessons I learned so the next time a challenge that requires learning something new, don’t be afraid to learn by doing.

More ideas in this issue including interesting reflection to when many outsourced jobs overseas and the impact this had on customers resulting in expensive pullbacks, might the rush to replace people with AI platforms have similar impacts? If you’re facing return to office conversations, it might be time to rethink the management framework and what people are seeking, we learned lessons the last 3 years and most of us aren’t going back to the old ways so change is needed now.

What’s new in your space as we enjoy summer’s sizzle? Let’s zoom-coffee (perhaps iced?) so we can keep smiling, and learning, together (schedule time with the link in the blue oval on the right on the “home” page or here!).
