The Ryan Report: May 2024

In today’s rapidly evolving workplace, it’s imperative that we reassess how we measure and reward success. The antiquated practice of valuing employees based on their proximity to the office rather than their contributions and results is a disservice to talent and innovation.

This video is a call to action for leaders to abandon these obsolete metrics and embrace a culture that truly values performance and impact. By fostering an environment of empowerment and flexibility, and recognizing outcomes over attendance, organizations can bolster employee loyalty, trust, and productivity.

In this issue of the Ryan Report, I see that looking to the future, upskilling isn’t the way it used to be as we focus and learn in the flow of work and for new leaders, learning on-the-job all the new “soft” skills needed to be successful isn’t always the best way, here’s another option. Finally, let your inner 2 year out, let yourself and your teammates ask “why” as a way to impact productivity.

Personal ask, follow me on Substack, I publish 3-4 posts weekly centered on performance, learning, and leading in our flow of work. Of course, I’m always open to a virtual cup of coffee and a chat, click the link below and let’s connect.
